Utilities—gas, electric and water—are set up through City Hall in Flora.
You will need to fill out a utility application that includes basic personal information.
What information do I need to bring with me?
One thing you will need to bring with you is a valid driver's license. You may need to bring in other information, depending on whether you are renting or whether you are a home owner.
I'm Renting
Besides your driver's license, you will also need to bring in a copy of your rental inspection. This is available from your landlord.
Deposits
Utility deposits for renters are $375 total:
- Gas - $125
- Electric - $125
- Water - $125
Deposits are not refunded for those who rent.
I'm a Homeowner
You only need to bring in your driver's license and fill out the utility application.
Deposits
Utility deposits for homeowners are $250 total:
- Gas - $100
- Electric - $100
- Water - $50
Deposits for homeowners are refundable.
When Can I Expect To Have Service?
If City Hall receives your deposit by 1:00 PM, utilities can usually be switched on by the end of the same day.
